Honoring Leadership and Legacy

As we approach the end of an era for a few our esteemed Board of Directors, we want to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the exceptional contributions made by these remarkable individuals. Their leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in guiding our organization through both triumphs and challenges. As their terms come to a close, it’s only fitting that we acknowledge their profound impact and express our deepest gratitude for their dedication and service.

Our friend, Jerry Rudick, pictured in the middle above to Sholom CEO Jim Newbrough (left) and David Nirenstein (right), has dutifully served on our Sholom Community Alliance board for over 14 years.  During his 14 years, he also served as the Board Treasurer for two years, Board President for two years, Past Board President and Chair of Nominating Committee for two years and Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee for two years.  He still remains a director on our HUD Board and a member on the Budget & Finance Committee.

Also pictured is Sholom COO, Ann Thole and HUD Board Liaison; Doug Weissman, HUD Board Director; David Nirenstein, Sholom Community Alliance Board President; and Dave Berryman, CFO.  Doug Weissman served on the HUD Board for a two-year term and has also served on the Budget & Finance Committee.  Doug has fulfilled his commitment to the HUD Board and Budget & Finance Committee as of July 2024.  However, he is still planning to fulfill his term on the Alliance Board.

Linda Stein, who is not pictured, served two, 3-year terms on the Sholom Community Alliance Board of Directors. With both of their terms ending in July 2024, we wanted to make sure to send them off with the proper appreciation. “We will certainly miss the knowledge and expertise that they have brought to our Sholom Community Alliance board,” says Sholom Chief Executive Officer Jim Newbrough.

Jim also states, “Board directors must be committed to the Mission of the organization.  Nonprofit organizations rely heavily on the dedication and wisdom of their board directors.  These individuals play a crucial role in shaping the organization’s mission, strategy, and impact.  We are very fortunate at Sholom to have many individuals who contribute their time and talents to help further the mission and the work of Sholom.”

Thank you Jerry, Doug, and Linda, we deeply appreciate you sharing your gifts with Sholom and all those we serve. A heartfelt thank you for your tireless efforts in shaping our organization’s future.
