We’re excited to announce a fresh new chapter in dining at Sholom’s Ackerberg Sholom West Campus: Yona Dining Solutions has arrived!
Regionally led by renowned local chef Drew Cohen, Yona brings a wealth of culinary expertise and a heart for community-centered dining. With a background in launching acclaimed restaurants, crafting elevated fine dining experiences, and operating his own private chef business, Chef Drew understands how to balance artistry and accessibility. And that’s exactly what he’s bringing to the table at Sholom. The Yona culinary teams have begun meal services within our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Care communities, as well as opening up the Nosh Nook for lunch service at Knollwood Place Independent Living Apartments, all within the same campus at Sholom West in St. Louis Park. Our talented culinary team at Yona Dining, led by Chef Drew Cohen, is hard at work behind the scenes preparing for the reopening of the Knollwood Place dining room, which we will officially be opening on September 17, 2025. Launching a new restaurant experience takes time and involves many important steps—from hiring and training staff to finalizing menus, pricing, ordering, and implementing backend systems, so we want to make sure we do it right.
Why Yona?
Sholom Interim Chief Operating Officer, Andrea Horvath shared, “We underwent an 18-month search for the right culinary partner, we knew we needed more than just a food service provider—we needed a team that aligned with our values and could elevate the dining experience across our entire campus. Our priorities were clear: quality, creativity, and a deep commitment to service and community.
Yona Dining Solutions rose to the top because of their collaborative spirit, flexibility in menu design, and ability to deliver high-quality meals without compromising affordability. Their team works closely with ours, bringing an “in-house” feel that fosters innovation and responsiveness to resident preferences.
At the heart of Yona’s impact is Chef Drew Cohen, whose decades of experience in fine dining and catering have transformed our culinary program. Under his leadership, every building on campus now benefits from thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully prepared meals that nourish both body and soul.
The decision was further affirmed by glowing feedback from others who have partnered with Yona. Their reputation for resident satisfaction, creativity, and care made them the ideal choice for Sholom—and we’re proud to have them at our table.”

With Yona Dining Solutions, we proudly serve approachable gourmet—chef-driven meals that are thoughtfully crafted, made from scratch, and always served with heart.
