Many of the factors that most affect a person’s health are rooted in legal issues, and medical care and social services alone can’t resolve them.

Join Sholom and Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS) for a virtual CEU presentation on spotting legal risks early, before they become crises.

You’ll explore legal health screenings, including the Minnesota Legal Risk Detector, practical tools for identifying risks related to decision-making, housing, finances, and personal safety.

What you’ll learn:
✔️ The most common legal issues that affect health outcomes
✔️ The benefits of legal health screenings
✔️ Which legal services address these issues
✔️ How to access legal help through the Legal Risk Detector and other pathways

Who should attend: Care managers, social workers, nurses and other health professionals, community providers, and aging services and senior living staff. Medical and non-medical professionals are equally welcome, and no legal background is needed.

Your presenter: Rachael Funk is the Supervising Attorney in the Legal Advocacy for Older Persons Project at Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services. Rachael’s work at SMRLS centers on issues affecting Minnesota seniors age 60+ in the greatest economic and social need.
