Sholom is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Horvath as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective today. Andrea has been part of the Sholom community for more than 16 years, serving in roles that span direct resident care, clinical leadership, and campus operations. Her deep experience, commitment to our mission, and steady leadership make her exceptionally well-suited to guide Sholom through its next phase of growth and transformation.
A Leader Who Grew With the Organization
Andrea joined Sholom in 2009 as an occupational therapist, where she worked closely with residents and families to support their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life. Her passion for person-centered care quickly set her apart, and she transitioned into several key leadership positions, including Director of Rehabilitation. For the past five years, she has served as the Ackerberg Family Sholom West Campus Administrator, overseeing operations, supporting staff, and ensuring exceptional care across the campus.
Most recently, Andrea has served as Interim COO, demonstrating strong operational leadership, a collaborative spirit, and a deep understanding of the needs of both residents and staff.
A Trusted Leader with Deep Roots at Sholom
“Andrea’s long-standing commitment to Sholom and her deep understanding of our operations make her uniquely suited for this role,” said Jim Newbrough, Chief Executive Officer. “Her leadership during the interim period has been exceptional, and her dedication to our mission, our residents, and our staff will help guide Sholom through an exciting chapter of growth and transformation.”
Throughout her 16-year career at Sholom, Andrea has earned the respect of colleagues across both campuses. Her leadership style reflects Sholom’s core values: compassion, integrity, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to those we serve. She brings not only operational expertise, but a profound understanding of the individuals, families, and staff who make Sholom a community.
Andrea’s Vision for the Future
Andrea expressed her enthusiasm for taking on this new role:
“I am honored to serve as Sholom’s Chief Operating Officer,” said Andrea Horvath. “This organization has been my professional home for more than 16 years. I have tremendous respect for our teams and deep gratitude for the trust placed in me. I look forward to working alongside our staff, partners, and leadership to continue strengthening the care, services, and experience we provide.”
As COO, Andrea will oversee operations across both Sholom campuses, support ongoing organizational transformation, and collaborate with leaders and staff to enhance care delivery, streamline processes, and enrich the overall experience for residents and families.
Strengthening Stability and Operational Excellence
Andrea’s appointment reflects Sholom’s commitment to strong leadership, operational excellence, and continued organizational transformation. With her extensive background and hands-on experience across the continuum of care—including independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing—Andrea is uniquely positioned to strengthen Sholom’s operational foundation and support its mission-driven growth.
Her leadership will play a key role in advancing strategic initiatives, supporting care teams, and ensuring that Sholom continues to provide high-quality, compassionate, and culturally grounded services.
