SUMMARY:Fridays at Knollwood: An Introduction to St. Louis Park History
DESCRIPTION:As part of our Fridays at Knollwood event series\, join us for a fascinating look at the early history of St. Louis Park as the city celebrates 140 years since its incorporation as a village in 1886.\n\nThis presentation will explore the ambitious vision of Thomas B. Walker\, best known as the founder of the Walker Art Center\, who set out in the 1890s to transform St. Louis Park into an industrial suburb of Minneapolis. Though his plans were interrupted by the national economic Panic of 1893\, traces of his vision remained for decades — and a few can still be seen today.\n\nGuests are invited to enjoy an afternoon of lifelong learning\, local history and community connection at Knollwood Place Apartments.\n\nThis free event is open to the community. All are welcome.\n\n Friday\, June 12 | 2:30 p.m.\n Knollwood Place Apartments\, 3630 Phillips Parkway\, St. Louis Park\nRSVP by emailing Alex at acarlon@sholom.com or register here: https://form.jotform.com/261385926375165
